Schlicher, John F.

Mr. John F. Schlicher, age 58, of Weston, Wisconsin, died Monday, December 8th, 2014 .  

John was born in Darlington, Wisconsin on November 18, 1956, the son of Fred L. Schlicher and the late Norma (Schroeder) Schlicher.  John followed a family tradition by attending Wayland Academy ‘75. After graduation John attended UWSP, he graduated with a degree in Wildlife Biology ‘79. He taught at The Country Day School in Toledo, Ohio before returning to Beaver Dam in 1987 to teach at Wayland Academy until 1992. During this time John received his Masters Degree in Biology.  John moved to Indiana and was employed by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. John loved teaching and after years as the Hazardous Materials Coordinator for Marathon County he returned to substitute teaching where he was a favorite among the students and the faculty. At the time of his death John was employed by the DC Everest School District and The Olive Garden in Wausau. John was a lifetime member of Wolf River Chapter of Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association, an animal lover and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  

John is survived by Father Fred (Nancy) Schlicher, Brother Jim (Sandy) Iola, and Sister Sally (Melvin) Cintron. John is also survived by his nieces, Jaimie and Nicole Schlicher and Amanda Cintron, nephews, Jonathan and Michael Cintron. John is also survived by several cousins.  

A Memorial Service will be held at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church N8808 County Hwy J, Iola, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 12th,  with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating with a luncheon to follow.  A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 10 AM -11 AM. at the church.  A private family burial will take place at a later time.  In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to The John F.
