Hawks hand Bulldogs home loss

The Shawano Hawks took advantage of an injured Bulldog boys varsity basketball team at New London, Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Bulldog Sam Porath is out with an ankle injury and Alex Thiemer suffered a concussion.

New London was cool from the floor hitting only 9 of 36 attempts and 11 of 19 free-throws in Tuesday’s 62-31 loss against the Hawks.

“It was a poor game all around,” said Head Coach Ken Jagiello. “All we can do is learn from it and move on.”

Tyler Jaiello led the Bulldogs scoring with 9 points. Scott Bierman had 8, Carter Thomson, Nick Thomas and Scott Doucette each had 3, Hunter Zaddack and Ty Barrington had 2 and Alex Thiemer had 1.

Bulldogs 44, Denmark 50

At Denmark, the Bulldogs got off to a slow start Friday, Dec. 12, trailing the Vikings 18-3 after the first quarter.

New London fought back outscoring the Vikings 9-5 in the second quarter and 12-7 in the third.

Both teams rallied up 20 points each in the fourth quarter as the buzzer ran out in a conference loss for New London.

Ty Barrington led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Nick Thomas had 9, Scott Doucette 8, Hunter Zaddack 7, Walter Linklater 4, Sam Porath 3, Scott Bierman 1, and Krueger 1.

The Bulldogs traveled to Oconto Falls on Dec. 16 and will host Little Chute at home Monday, Dec. 22.
