Hospice room planned at RMC

ThedaCare Hospice Foundation raised more than $21,000 to benefit hospice patients and their families in 2014.

This year, a portion of the proceeds from the Light Up the Night for Hospice summer fundraiser will go help renovate a room at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca for hospice patients.

The hospice patient room also provides a separate living area for the patient to visit in comfort with their family members.

Because of the generous sponsorship support of Neuville Motors, the ThedaCare Hospice Foundation was able to submit a Matching Grant request to the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association to help fund the renovation project.

ThedaCare Hospice Foundation was selected as one of the 2014 recipients earning the highest financial award given. It will receive a $1,000 donation.

The Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association’s Community Challenge Grant Program supports dealer involvement in local, community charities.

Through the program a dealer can receive a 50 percent matching grant up to $1,000 to give to the charity of their choice. Recipient organizations are considered on the basis of uniqueness, need and impact.

The Community Challenge Grant Program has awarded 198 such grants to 141 different statewide charities, totaling $224,500 to date. Community Challenge Grants are awarded twice each year.
