Snodeo seeks 2015 queen

The 2015 Snodeo staff is accepting applications for a queen and two princesses to reign during this year’s event.

The seventh annual Snodeo begins Feb. 20 with the “Under the Lights” show, along with snowmobile racing Feb. 21-22 at Bear Lake Campground and Resort.

Reigning Queen Haley Ingersoll presided over last year’s activities, along with princesses Carlee Zander and Lindsey Marks.

“I had an excellent time as Snodeo royalty,” Ingersoll said. “It is a unique, community-oriented, family friendly event.”

Snodeo festivities include Kitty Kat races, Lakecross, Motorcycle Ice Racing, Radar Runs, Ice Drag and Oval races. Also new this year, the event is extended an extra day, with the Wisconsin Kids Snowmobile Racing Association (WKSRA) National Championship races.

The queen and princesses will assist in the opening ceremonies of the Snodeo, help with the race line-up and aid in the distribution of trophies.

The queen and her court will be expected to help promote the Manawa Snodeo in the weeks prior to the event.

Contestants must be between 15 and 19 years old as well as reside within a Waupaca County school district and be a student of a high school therein.

Contestants must have written consent from their parents, as well as permit their photograph and name to be used in publicity for the event.

Girls interested in participating in the event can obtain an application from www.manawasnodeo.com, contact Debbie Sarna at [email protected] or pick up an application at Bear Lake Resort and Campground, N4715 State Highway 22-110, Manawa.

Completed applications can be mailed to: Debbie Sarna, 220 Dorothy Dr., Manawa, WI, 54949.

The deadline for applications is Jan. 31.
