Barnes, Joyce M. (nee Lang)

Joyce M. (nee Lang) Barnes passed away peacefully at Bethany Home on January 15, 2015. 

She was born June 3, 1949 to the late James and Dorothy (Boutwell) Lang. She married Thomas Barnes June 10, 1995. 

She is survived by her loving husband Tom; one son, Steve Stumke, Larsen, WI; one daughter, Stacy (Bart) Buhler, Waupaca, WI and three step-children, Tommy (Molly) Barnes, Lakeville, MN; Tanya (Mike) McDermott, Baxter, MN and Tisha (Detrick) Schultz, Milwaukee, WI. She was blessed with three special grandchildren, Bradley (fiancée, Katie) Buhler and Abby and Mason Stumke and 11 step-grandchildren: Tyler, Alex, Kyle, Jacob, Logan, Ella, and Morgan Barnes; Miles and Lilly McDermott, and Nora and Malcolm Schultz. Joyce is also survived by one sister, Gloria (Charles) Gerlach, Weyauwega, WI; one brother, Larry (Cheri) Lang, Waupaca; one brother-in-law, Chuck Barnes, Phoenix, AZ and two sisters-in-law, Penny Dolfurd, Westwood, NJ and Vi Freeman, Bakersfield, CA. She, also, leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Aunt Maggie and Uncle Jim Kniebes. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and her loving dog, Angel. 

Joyce was a lifelong resident of Waupaca and a member of the Crystal Lake United Methodist Church. Joyce had an infectious smile, an inviting personality and was blessed to have had so many friends over the years and all were blessed to have known her. Joyce especially enjoyed being the best dental assistant ever for Dr. James L. Duwell and traveling the world with Tom. 

Funeral Services will be held at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015, with Pastor Jeffrey S. Fletcher officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Waupaca Humane Society, the Crystal Lake United Methodist Church or Bethany Home in Joyce’s name. Joyce and her family would like to thank all of the caring, encouraging, and supportive staff at Bethany Home. Joyce loved all of you as much as you loved her.
