Veterans Benefit Fair in Waupaca

The 2015 Veterans Benefit Fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Waupaca Rec Center on School Street.

Veterans and their families may meet with various federal, state and local organizations to learn about benefits, services and resources.

Hosted by the Waupaca County Veterans Service Office, the fair will have representatives from the state Veterans Affairs office, the Waupaca Aging and Disability Resource Center, Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program, Wisconsin Veterans Home, Vets Helping Vets, ThedaCare at Home, Warrior Pointe, Center for Veterans Issues, Social Security Administration, Waupaca County Department of Health and Human Services, Workforce Development, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

A Mobile Vet Center from Green Bay will also be on site where war zone veterans may receive confidential counseling from trained staff.

Veterans may meet with counselors to discuss post-traumatic stress disorder, readjustment to civilian life, employment, benefits and referral, family issues and bereavement.
