Clintonville takes 11th at Trucker Invite

The Trucker varsity wrestling team hosted the Trucker Invite on Saturday, Jan. 17, finishing 11th out of 12 teams. The young Clintonville team only fielded nine wresters out of 14 possible weight classes. Four freshmen and one sophomore have stepped up to wrestle at the varsity level.

Ben Cotherman (106 pounds) got pinned in his first match at 0:32, and lost 14-0 in his second match. He pinned his third opponent with a time of 1:06, but was pinned in his last match of the day at 1:04, taking sixth place.

Cole Cotherman (120 pounds) lost his first match 12-0, but that was his only loss for the day. He pinned his second opponent in 1:34, and his third in 4:46. He finished by handily pinning his fourth opponent in 1:37, securing fourth place.

Bailey Fields (132 pounds) was pinned in 1:36 his first match. He battled valiantly to lose 16-11 in his second match. He was pinned in 0:40, and then in 0:39 in his third and fourth matches. To finish a tough day, he was pinned in his last match at the 5:21 mark.

Tim Jerabek (138 pounds) lost his first match 5-1. He won his second by a 2-1 decision, pinned his third opponent in 3:55, and won his fourth match by a major decision of 12-0. He took third place by defeating his final opponent, 6-3.

Lacey Jung (145 pounds) lost her first match, getting pinned in 0:29, and was pinned in her second match in 0:33. She then pinned her third opponent in 5:53. She won her fourth match by injury default. She closed out the day getting pinned in 1:42.

Shayne Collar (152 pounds) defeated his first opponent by pin in 3:20, his second in 3:19, but lost his third by a 6-2 decision. He lost another decision 10-4, but won his final match by injury default, securing fifth place.

Jordan Streicher (160 pounds) lost his first match by tech fall 20-5. He was pinned in his second in 1:38. He lost his next two by giving up injury defaults.

Jason Bilek (170 pounds) was pinned four times on the day by times of 0:41, 3:28, 1:06,and 4:33.

Trenton Niemczyk (182 pounds) was pinned four times in 1:27, 2:30, 2:31, and 3:41. He won his last match by injury default.

The Truckers had no wrestlers competing at 113 pounds, 126 pounds, 195 pounds, 220 pounds, or 285 pounds.

Clintonville 39, Fox Valley Lutheran 30

The Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes tried to sneak into the home of the Clintonville Truckers and were soundly trounced as the Truckers won their dual meet 39-30 on Thursday, Jan. 15.

Bridget Streicher (126 pounds) was the first Trucker up, winning by forfeit.

At 132 pounds, Bailey Fields posted his first pin against Jason Plaster in 1:39.

Tim Jerabek (138 pounds) recorded his first match won by points 9-5 (his previous wins this season all came by pins).

With no wrestlers at 145 pounds and 160 pounds, Clintonville gave up 12 points by forfeits.

Shayne Collar (152 pounds) made short work of his man, pinning him at the 0:32 mark.

With a pin in 1:34, Jordan Streicher made his return to 170 pounds after a couple weeks hiatus from the mat.

Jason Bilek (182 pounds) was pinned by a better wrestler.

Trenton Niemczyk (195 pounds) was the last Trucker to hit the mat, pinning his man in 3:53.

The Foxes won forfeits at 220 pounds, and there was a double forfeit at 285 pounds.

Ben Cotherman (106 pounds) went to the mat to get his hand raised accepting a forfeit, and there was a double forfeit at 113 pounds to close out the evening.
