Egland, Anna I.

Anna Irie Egland, age 88, of New London passed away peacefully on Jan. 22, 2015. 

Anna was born in Cherokee County, Iowa, on September 28, 1926 to Floyd and Tresa Grahn. As a child, Anna moved with her family to Willmar, MN. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1944 where she played in the school orchestra as first chair violinist. On July 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Clifford Egland. In January 1969 Anna moved with her family to New London, WI. She was employed for several years at Belott’s True Value. Anna enjoyed playing bingo, cards and reading. She was also very proud of her Swedish heritage. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New London. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Terry) Wegner, New London, WI; a son Mark (Kris) Egland, Eagle River, WI; a son-in-law, LeRoy Gohmann, Woodbury, MN. Also, seven grandchildren: Scott Gohmann, Steve Gohmann, Shawn Gohmann, Daniel Wegner, Kathleen (Cody) Davis, Melissa Egland and Erik Egland; ten great grandchildren: Kayla, Jessica, Kelli, Allison, Kyle, Zachary, Aubrey, Abigail, Olivia and Chloe; a sister, Ruby (Jerry) Johnson, New London, MN., and a sister-in-law Jean Grahn, Kandiyohi, MN. A special God Child, Susan Reinke and many nieces and nephews also survive. Anna was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, her daughter Virginia (Ginny) Gohmann who she lost in Dec. 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer, three brothers, Merle, Verlin and Jimmie Grahn and a sister Sylvia Kallevig. 

The funeral service for Anna will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Bil Sutlief officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. A visitation for Anna will be held on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
