The Waupaca girls’ basketball team dropped recent Eastern Valley Conference games to Appleton Xavier and Winneconne.
Xavier handed the Comets a 64-20 defeat Jan. 30, while Winneconne picked up a 46-20 win Jan. 27.
Xavier 64, Waupaca 20
APPLETON – The Hawks led 21-4 after one quarter, 34-8 at halftime and 53-9 after three quarters before both teams scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Taylor Vaughan and Victoria accounted for all of Waupaca’s scoring with 10 points each. Erin Powers led the Hawks with 15 points.
Winneconne 46, Waupaca 20
The Comets trailed 19-4 after one quarter, 31-13 at halftime and 43-16 after three quarters before outscoring Winneconne 4-3 over the final eight minutes.
Nowak scored 13 points to lead Waupaca, while Abby Luedtke scored 13 to lead Winneconne.
