Teen charged with felony sex crime

Prosecutors have filed sexual assault charges against a New London teen for the second time in five months.

Treavor A. Beck, 19, New London, was charged Jan. 30 with second-degree sexual assault of a child and repeated sexual assault of a child.

New London Police Officer Joshua Wilson met with a 15-year-old girl on Sept. 22, 2014. She said she and Beck had sex three to four times over a three-day period when she was 14 years old. She accused Beck of making her pregnant.

When Wilson interviewed Beck at the jail, Beck reportedly said he and the girl had sex multiple times.

According to the criminal complaint, Beck said he did not believe in using condoms and if the child was his he would be responsible for his actions.

He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault of a child.

On Sept. 16, 2014, Beck was charged with first-degree sexual assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Vicki Clussman set a $10,000 cash bond as a condition of Beck’s release from custody and that bond was not amended or posted.

On Jan. 13, the complaint was amended as part of a plea deal, and Beck entered pleas of no contest to felony child abuse, fourth-degree sexual assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing is scheduled for March 25.
