A Wood County safekeeper inmate in the Waupaca County jail has been charged with battery by a prisoner.
Donald J. Gunderson, 21, Nekoosa, is currently serving a one year sentence in the county jail after being convicted of a misdemeanor sex crime and violating a child abuse court order.
According to the criminal complaint, Gunderson became involved in a fight with another inmate. They allegedly started punching each other over a disagreement involving a card game.
During the altercation, Gunderson is reported to have pushed the other inmate down and punched him hard enough to draw blood.
