A Weyauwega man was killed shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday in a snowmobile crash in Onota Township in Michigan.
The Alger County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jeffrey Togstad, 44, was traveling with a group of four snowmobiles on a trail toward Marquette when he lost control of his 2015 Ski-Doo snowmobile on a bridge. He was thrown from the vehicle and into some small trees.
Togstad was pronounced dead at the scene.
Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
