Food pantry receives donation from club

The Waupaca Lions Club used this year’s holiday party as a way to benefit the Waupaca Area Food Pantry.

Members of the club brought items to the party that could be silently auctioned off back to other members of the club.

The auction table included handmade woodcrafts and symphony tickets at the Performing Arts Center in Appleton.

After they completed the bidding and also raffled off the flower centerpieces that were on the tables, the club raised a total of $690 for the food pantry.

Kathy Jenner, the pantry’s volunteer operation manager, said she “was very happy to receive this donation, and that it came in at a perfect time, as the pantry had just purchased a large order of supplies.”

Todd Mallasch, of the Waupaca Lions Club, said the club “was just as glad they were able to put this money to such good use.”

The Waupaca Area Food Pantry accepts monetary and non-perishable food donations.

It is open from 9-11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
