New London museum adopts a new logo

The New London Public Museum announced it has a new logo.

Christine Cross, museum director, worked with the Bemis Graphics Design Team to create a new logo for the museum. The previous logo used by the museum was close to 15 years old and needed to be updated.

“It was great working with the Bemis team,” Cross said. “I told them we needed something that reflected the museum’s amazing collection and they really did a great job.”

The Library/Museum Board of Directors approved the logo at the March board meeting and it was shown in public for the first time at the Friends of the New London Public Museum annual meeting.

The design links the museum to its historic building and shows the main topics of the museum’s collection: Native American History, Natural History and Local History. The colors chosen reflect the red brick and light color mortar used on the museum building when it was built in 1932. The letters are easy to read and the entire logo looks professional, timeless and quickly conveys the museum’s message.
