The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect after a high-speed chase that ended with a crash at 1:16 a.m. Friday on State Highway 22 at Radley Road in Dayton.
Residents in the Waupaca area received Code Red phone messages at approximately 4 a.m. Friday, alerting them that the suspect had fled on foot.
During the pursuit, deputies learned the vehicle had been stolen out of Oklahoma.
The suspect is 23-year-old Nickolas J. Poplawski. He is described as a 6-foot white male, wieghting 198 pounds, medium to long brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing blue cutoff jeans and a dark colored sweatshirt or long-sleeved shirt.
He is wanted for felony fleeing and other charges.
