Clarence H. Hansen Jr., age 91, of Chandler, AZ died on Wed., March 18, 2015.
He was born August 8, 1923 in Waupaca, WI, the son of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Olson) Hansen. He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1941 and then served in the Army during World War II. He attended college in Detroit, MI and graduated as a pharmacist. Clarence worked at Wayne Apothecary in St. Clair Shores, MI where he met Betty Jane Knecht. They were married on June 9, 1956 in Detroit. Clarence and Betty then moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1969. He worked at Smittys Drugstore until his retirement. Following Betty’s death on Oct. 17, 2004, Clarence moved to Pennington Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Chandler, AZ until his death.
He is survived by two sisters – Donna (Marlin) Haase – Waupaca, WI and Mary Baehman – Weyauwega, WI along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister (Betty R. Toepke) and brother-in-law (Eugene Baehman.)
Clarence will be buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Waupaca. Private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to Janice and Joel Premselaar, Connie Everhart and the staff at Pennington Gardens for the loving care given to Clarence during his stay.
