Trip from hospital to jail follows motorcycle crash in Waupaca

Waupaca police arrested Michael J. Gill, 37, Waupaca, after he crashed a motorcycle shortly after 12:30 a.m. Friday, April 17.

A 911 call reported that a man had been thrown from his motorcycle after losing control near the intersection of School and Sixth streets. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Gill, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to Riverside Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and released from the hospital.

He was then taken to Waupaca County jail on pending charges of a third drunken driving offense, operating without a motorcycle endorsement, operating without insurance, operating after revocation and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Gill was convicted in Outagamie County of his second OWI in June 2013. He was cited for operating after revocation (OAR) in April 2014, charged with OAR and misdemeanor bail jumping in October 2014, and charged with OAR and bail jumping again on March 31, 2015.
