Iola-Scandinavia’s baseball team split a pair of Central Wisconsin 8 Conference games with Shiocton and Weyauwega-Fremont.
The Thunderbirds fell to Shiocton 7-3 April 16 and defeated Weyauwega-Fremont by the same score April 13.
A four-run fourth-inning gave the Chiefs a 7-1 lead in Shiocton.
Shiocton opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the T-Birds tied the game in the second.
The Chiefs added runs in the second and third to take a 3-1 lead.
The T-Birds came up with two more runs in the seventh.
Cam Gruenwald took the loss for the T-Birds, while Mitch Ebben struck out seven batters over 5 1/3 innings to get the win for Shiocton.
Nate Korb picked up the win on the mound against Weyauwega-Fremont.
The T-Birds were scheduled to host Manawa April 21 in a rescheduled game. I-S will also host Stevens Point Pacelli Thursday, April 23, and Wild Rose Friday, April 24, before heading to Amherst Monday, April 27.
