Ogdensburg man charged with felony OWI

Robert Depaoli, 44, Ogdensburg, is charged with a fourth offense of operating while intoxicated and operating after revocation.

At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Loken was eastbound on State Highway 161 near Bestul Road when he saw another eastbound vehicle swerve completely over into the westbound lane, then back into the eastbound lane, according to the criminal complaint. Loken then made a traffic stop.

While speaking to the driver, identified as Depaoli, Loken noticed a strong odor of marijuana.

Loken asked Depaoli to step out of the car and questioned him about where he was coming from, where he was going and where he was.

Depaoli said he was coming from New London and reportedly believed he was on County Trunk E.

Loken advised Depaoli that he was headed east on State 161.

Depaoli looked around and said all the questions were confusing him, the complaint says.

Depaoli’s license was revoked for 28 months on Oct. 1, 2013, for a third OWI in Portage County.

His license was revoked for 13 months on Oct. 16, 2012, when he was convicted of a second OWI.
