Woman with active warrant charged with attempted burglary

Casey L. Duket, 24, Waupaca, is charged with attempted burglary, possession of burglarious tools and criminal damage to property.

At noon Thursday, April 16, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Loken was dispatched to an apartment on County Trunk QQ in Farmington.

The caller said a woman had tried to break into his apartment by using a credit card.

Loken met with the man who said he was eating his lunch when he heard a noise at the door and saw a plastic card slip through the door jam.

He deadbolted the door, waited a few minutes, then opened the door.

The man said he saw a woman in her 20s with her hair up in a loose bun and wearing white-framed glasses and vanilla-colored pants. The woman, later identified as Duket, was allegedly pulling at the insulation tape on his door.

According to the criminal complaint, Duket then returned to her apartment, where Loken found and arrested her on a warrant from Dodge County for failure to pay child support.

In September 2013, she was sentenced to one year in prison on narcotics and theft charges in Waushara County.
