Clintonville schools to host art fair

The Clintonville Middle School and High School will be hosting an art fair Thursday, May 14.

Diana Rose, Clintonville Middle School art teacher, said the purpose of the art fair is “to showcase student artwork and student musical performances to the community, to show the community the positive things students are doing.”

The art show portion of the event will be gallery-style with artwork on display. Artwork that will be on display includes paintings, drawings, watercolor paintings, and some 3D ceramic sculptures.

“People can come in at their leisure and check out the artwork,” Rose said.

Student musical performances will be dispersed throughout the area for visitors to listen to and watch.

Rose said some students will be performing their solo and ensemble pieces, both vocal and instrumental.

Students from fifth grade through 12th grade will be participating in the event.

Students are excited to be a part of the event, Rose said. This is the first year in several years that middle school students have participated.

“When I talk about it with them they get pretty excited,” Rose said. “They think it’s cool that their artwork is going to be on display for the community for everyone to see.”

The art fair is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. in the Clintonville High School commons area.

The middle school choir will be performing a concert at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

“I hope that the community comes,” Rose added. “I think it’s going to be an awesome event. It’s a way to support our students.”
