Butt, Debra M.

Debra M. Butt, age 58 of Fremont, died at Bethany Home in Waupaca on Thursday, May 07, 2015 after a strong and hard fought battle with cancer for 3 ½ years.

She was born on August 24, 1956 in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Lynette (Kopiske) Behm. On June 4, 1977, Debra married Leonard Butt. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1994. Debra was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont. She was employed at Pearle Vision Center in Appleton for 15 years. Debra had many hobbies and interests in life, but she especially enjoyed reading and showing her dogs.

Debra is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Tim) Emond, Fremont; two grandchildren, Ryan and Victoria; her mother, Lynette (Duane) Hanneman, Fremont; two sisters, Jean (Steve) Wiechmann, Milwaukee; and Janet (Dave) Yonke, Weyauwega; her mother-in-law, Edith Butt, Waupaca; a brother-in-law, Glenn (Cheryl) Butt, Waupaca; a sister-law, Judy (Robert) Strike, New London; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; a daughter, Kristin; two infant sisters, and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont. Pastor Stephen Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, at the Lewin Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society.

Debra’s family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Daisy Boehm and the Oncology Department at ThedaCare, as well as the staffs at Theda Clark, The Bridges and Bethany Home, for the wonderful care and compassion provided.
