Hortonville girls pick up two, drops one

The Polar Bears fought off a cold front against Kimberly on May 12, after falling short in seven innings against the Papermakers.

Kimberly’s Megan Kleist delivered two homeruns and five of the Papermakers eight RBI’s in the 8-3 win over Hortonville.

Hortonville’s Megan Hart and Whitney Baumann each had doubles. Randi Morack, Taylor Allen, and Baumann each had an RBI for the Polar Bears. Lexy Campsure went 3×4, Ally Fox 2×4, Calista Schmidt and Allen went 1×3, Hart and Bauman each went 1×4.

Polar Bear Pitcher Sammi Sullivan struck out 13 batters and gave up seven hits.

The Polar Bears defeated Oshkosh North 1-0, on Thursday May 14 in a low scoring game. The game was scoreless after four innings of play.

Hortonville’s Jordyn Brennan scored the solo run off an Oshkosh Error in the top of the fifth inning.

From the plate, Polar Bear Taylor Allen went 1×3, Whitney Baumann went 1×3 with a double, Lexy Campsure 2×3, and Ally Fox 1×2.

Polar Bear pitcher Sammi Sullivan pitched complete game in an 9-0 Hortonville shutout over Fond du Lac on Friday, May 15. Sullivan struck out 11 batters and gave up only two hits in the victory at Gill Hart Memorial Field. Hortonville batters had eleven hits in the game with a collective .400 on base percentage.

Polar Bears Whitney Baumann, Lexy Campsure, Jordyn Brennan each had a triple. Campsure and Brennan each also had doubles. Randi Morack also hit a double in the game. Brennan went 2×3 with 1 RBI. Campsure went 2×4 with 1 RBI. Baumann went 1×3 with 2 RBI, Alley Fox went 1×3 and 2 RBI, Megan Hart went 2×4 with 2 RBI.

The girls host Oshkosh West at home on May 19 and travel to Kimberly Thursday, May 21 for a rematch in the FVA conference.
