Karlson, Evelyn E.

Evelyn E. Karlson, age 95 of Clintonville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday evening, June 3, 2015.

Evelyn was born on October 18, 1919 in Winnebago, MN as the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Edwards) Orbell. She grew up in Hinsdale, IL where she graduated from high school. Evelyn was united in marriage to Art Karlson on October 22, 1939 in Hinsdale. Evelyn enjoyed raising her three children and helping Art at his clothing stores while in Hinsdale and they later moved to the Cloverleaf Lakes in 1960. It was at this time that Evelyn started working for area clothing stores including: Krueckenberg’s, Thelma’s, and retired from JC Penny. Art then preceded Evelyn in death on September 21, 1972. Evelyn stayed active in her community as a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Christ Congregational U.C.C. in Clintonville. Over the years Evelyn took care of many individuals that were in need of assistance. In her spare time, she enjoyed refinishing furniture, flower gardening, sewing, painting, and of course spending time with her family.

Survivors include: her children, Judy Schroeder, Clintonville; Nancy (Harry) Blum, New London; James (Beth) Karlson, Clintonville; Schroeder grandchildren: Katie, Kris (Tom) Raniszewski, Pat (Rosie), and Beth (Aaron) Torborg; Blum grandchildren: Andy (Julie), Michael (Chris), Daniel (Sarah), and Becky (Rob) Griesbach; Karlson grandchildren, Matthew and Peter; Schroeder great-grandchildren: Zach, Jamie, Jordan, Seth, Kaden, Liberty, Logan, Dalton, Emily, Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Landon, and Carson; Blum great-grandchildren: Dylan, Hannah, Victoria, Emma, Caleb, Joshua, Matthew, David, and Samantha; Karlson great-grandchild, Leah; her sisters: Karol (James) McCormick, Hinsdale; Sarah Pine, Libertyville, IL; and her brother, Jack Orbell, Monet, MO. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; a son-in-law, Marvin Schroeder; a grandson, while in service to his country, SSG Warren Hansen; two sisters, Kathleen Johnson and Margaret Rosol; two brothers, Forest Orbell and a brother in infancy; also numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Inurnment will be at Friendship Cemetery, Township of Belle Plaine, Shawano County. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family with the arrangements. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
