Tschurwald, Ronald

Ronald D. Tschurwald, age 79, New London passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 following a month-long illness.

Ron was born on August 13, 1935, son of the late Lester and Edna (Helgeson) Tschurwald in Iola. On January 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sally Zaug. Ron was a longtime member of United Methodist Church, New London and the UM Mens Club. He was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver, working for Berg and Henn moving houses and picking up train derailments. He also worked for Murphy’s running a loader and his last full time job was driving truck for Ort. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and enjoyed watching sports on TV. Ron served his country in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion and coached American Legion and Little League baseball. Ron was part of the early morning coffee klatch at the Pantry and a volunteer driver for Waupaca County.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; daughter, Mona Tschurwald (Al) O’Brien, Seattle; Jeff (Deb) Tschurwald, Pewaukee; brother, Darrell (Laurel) Tschurwald, Manitowish Waters; sister, JoAnn (Ron) Rychwalski, Lake St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren: Griffin, Emma, Ella, Brianna and Bailey and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a son, Scott and an infant brother, Richard.

Funeral services for Ron will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, New London with Rev. Joyce Rich officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Rites will be held at the church following the service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. The Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family.
