FVTC hosts Transportation Preview

Evening program focuses on auto repair, truck driving career options

The Fox Valley Technical College will host Transportation Preview Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at its Waupaca campus.

It will be repeated at FVTC’s Clintonville campus from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm, Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The preview will focus on FVTC’s training programs in automotive, collision repair, diesel, and truck driving.

A panel of employers will discuss job opportunities, training and skills requirements for positions in these fields, as well as provide information on wages, benefits and working conditions.

Instructors and current students will be available to answer questions and explain FVTC’s transportation-related programs.

The seminar will include hands-on demonstrations, a Beat the Heat race car, and information for those interested in careers in high-demand technical fields.

“This preview should appeal to those in high school or those who have just completed high school and who have not yet found a career pathway, those looking to enhance job skills or change career directions, those close to retirement who want something to do in retirement, and farmers and agriculture employees seeking enhanced skills,” said FVTC Regional Director Paul Shrode.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
