Truckers fail to deliver win for film crew

By Scott Bellile

For a film crew that collected Friday night lights footage for a short Clintonville Truckers football documentary at Clintonville High School Friday, Aug. 28, the atmosphere may have been more dismal than anticipated as the weather and the playing both turned out to be gloomy.

Clintonville High School scored no points to lose 46-0 against Freedom at the Truckers’ first home game of the season.

Freedom pumped out all their touchdowns in the first half of the game and then relaxed for the second half. Four touchdowns were scored in the first quarter along with a two-point conversion, and three touchdowns in the second quarter with two extra points.

Signs informed fans walking into the game that by entering the stadium they agreed to potentially appear in a short documentary. Filmmakers have been in town this week working on a piece sponsored by U.S. Cellular to celebrate the Truckers fans and tell the history of their team.
