Class of 1965 holds class reunion

Members of the New London High School Class of 1965 held their 50th class reunion Friday, Aug. 21 at The Waters in New London.

The reunion saw 18 year-olds disguised as senior citizens gathered for the three-R’s — Remembering, Reminiscing and Reminding.

The social event kicked off the 50th class reunion of Washington High School’s class of 1965. The phrases heard most often were, “Okay, tell me who you are,” and “Can you believe it has been 50 years?”

The events the next day included a golf outing at Shamrock Heights Golf Course. This was a “Fun Only” event focusing on fellowship. In the afternoon, class members met for a tour of their former high school, hosted by the now Washington Center.

In the evening, 90 people gathered for dinner and memories, emceed by Dr. James Barrington and held at the Shamrock Heights Golf & Supper Club. Names were read and moments of silence were held for classmates who died since graduation.

The reunion organizers were Judy Polzin Clements, Mary Lou Sheahan Reuter and Beth Tews Arras.
