Felony OWI arrest made in driveway

A Bear Creek man has been charged with a fifth OWI after Clintonville police responded to a domestic disturbance report.

Wayne A. Laux, 55, is charged with felony drunken driving, misdemeanor battery, attempted battery and disorderly conduct.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, Sgt. Craig Bevernitz and Officer Matthew Wright were dispatched to a home on Bennet Street.

When they arrived, they found Laux operating a vehicle that appeared to be blocking another vehicle from pulling out of the driveway. The other vehicle was parked sideways across the driveway as if the driver had tried to go around Laux.

Wright exited his vehicle, ordered Laux out of the car, handcuffed and placed him in the back of his squad car.

Two women who were standing outside the second vehicle said Laux had attacked them when they walked out of the house.

Laux allegedly hit one of the women in the face and tried to hit the other woman.

Laux had previously lived with one of the women, who kicked him out of the house.
