New trophy cases at Manawa schools

Local woodworkers build cases for Little Wolf High School

By Nate Ziemer

The Manawa School District can now show off its trophies in style.

The Manawa Athletic Booster Club and the school district recently joined together to update the trophy display cases by the front entrance of Little Wolf Junior/Senior High School.

The Booster Club met with the school board’s Education Building and Grounds Committee to discuss improving the displays that were overcrowded and lacked any potential expansion to display new awards.

Also, the previous trophy cases did not have safety glass, as is recommended to protect people passing through this high-traffic area.

After meeting with the Manawa School Board and two local craftsmen, the plans moved forward to produce several trophy cases.

The new trophy cases are large enough to hold the past trophies won by Manawa athletes and leave room for future Manawa successes.

New safety glass was installed in the old trophy cases so they may be safely repurposed to showcase student work in other LWJSHS corridors.

Lee Bertram and Todd Vaughn, local woodworkers, built the new trophy cases.
