Klatt, Gregory Paul

Gregory Paul Klatt, New London, age 46, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his wife Shannon, children Libby and Keaton and family.

He was born in New London on February 8, 1969 to David and Ila Mae (Prahl) Klatt. Greg graduated from New London Senior High in 1987 and then served in the US Navy for the next five years. On July 19, 1996, Greg was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shannon Prinsen. Greg worked many years at Steel King Industries in New London before taking a job at Curwood in New London in 2007 that he loved. Greg told many stories about the good times and awesome people he worked with. Greg was a very talented welder and mechanic and was always willing to help friends and family. He enjoyed re-building classic cars and trucks with his son Keaton, watching Libby play volleyball, kayaking with Libby and Keaton, fishing, mowing his lawn in a special criss-cross pattern (never below 4 inches). Recently Greg and Keaton purchased and fixed up a fishing boat in hopes of many future fishing trips. Greg was so proud of Libby with her many musical talents and enjoyed watching her play piano at church every Christmas Eve. Greg was diagnosed with Kidney cancer just three short weeks ago. He courageously battled and did everything he could to have more precious time with his loved ones. Through all of this, Greg’s biggest concern was for his wife and children.

Greg will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Shannon; their daughter Elizabeth (Libby) and their son Keaton; parents, David and Ila Mae; siblings: Kris (Lenny) Heimbruch, David Jr. (Renee) Klatt; Shannon’s parents, Tony and Connie Prinsen; sister-in-law, Laurie Shaw; nieces, Kerri and Brittney Much, Andrea (Aaron) Ritchie, Cassidy (Alex) and Caleigh Shaw. He is further survived by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his life-long friend Wayne Muskevitsch, good friend John Allie and numerous friends. Greg was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Carl and Esther Prahl and Victor and Lila Klatt; his brother-in-law, Faron Much and nephew, Daniel Much.
