Iola-Scandy juniors plan Halloween fundraiser

A hair-raising, horrifying, haunting experience awaits visitors to this year’s Haunted Mill in Iola.

The Iola-Scandinavia junior class has conjured up some delightfully frightful plans for Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 29-31.

This is the second annual Haunted Mill fundraiser for the junior class.

Sunday, Oct. 25, is a special lights-on tour; the mill will be lit and non-scary. It is designed for children and anyone who would like to see the costumes and the decorations without the fear factor.

Children are invited to trick-or-treat through the mill sections on Oct. 25, when all tickets are $3.

The fright will be toned down slightly from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. This does not mean “non-scary” nor will the lights be turned on, so it will probably still be too much for young children.

All other times are full-fright tours.

The cost is $7 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 12 and under.

Anyone donating a non-perishable item for the food pantry will receive $1 off the price of admission.

The event takes place in the Historic Iola Mill, located at 300 N. Main St., Iola.

All proceeds benefit the I-S Junior Class Prom and other Class of 2017 activities.
