Mike was born on November 16, 1942 in New London to the late Carl and Dorothy (Poehlman) Stiebs. In a pristine, peaceful valley of Waupaca County, Mike grew up on a progressive dairy farm. The tranquil woods, erratic glacial rocks and the Blake Brook that flowed through the land were his playground. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and listening to sports on his radio while tending to the farm. Mike attended primary school in a one-room country schoolhouse and graduated from Manawa High School in 1960. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. For his entire professional life Mike worked as a service and operations manager for commercial truck leasing companies. For the past eleven years, he was the WI/MN regional manager at McCoy Nationalease Inc. Mike will be remembered for his thirst of knowledge, voracious reading, industriousness, passionate horticulturist, Badger and Packer fan, political enthusiast and an avid traveler journeying to Singapore, Thailand, Spain, Portugal and Canada to name a few. Inspiring and unforgettable to his children and grandchildren was Mike’s pride and devotion to faith, family and country; his gentle and kind nature; enthusiasm to live life to the fullest; constant positive outlook and to be a life-long learner and adventurer.

He is survived by his three loving daughters, who are the light of his life, Tami (Dennis) Burton of Appleton and her children, Alexander and Courtney Oenes and stepchildren, Justin and Aaron Burton; Julianna (Terry) Otremba of Minneapolis, MN and their daughter, Addison Sophia; Kristina (Trent) Munyer of Coeur d’ Alene, ID and their daughters, Ava and Zara.
