Weyauwega hosts holiday parade

Festivities include Christmas tree lighting, Santa

Weyauwega’s Christmas Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Weyauwega Public Library.

It will include the lighting of the city’s tree there, as well as the lighting of a second tree for the community, at the corner of Main and Pine streets.

The tree for the downtown location is made possible by Randy Faulks and Faulks Bros. Construction and Kathy Fehl and Ian Teal.

Faulks Bros. Construction moves the horse sculpture, which has a plaque honoring the late Syd Faulks next to it, to make room for the placement of a tree across from the Gerold Opera House.

Fehl and Teal, of Wega Arts, own the property across from the opera house and also provide a tree for the community.

After the parade and lighting of both trees, all are invited to the opera house.

Inside the opera house, Wega Arts will host an event which includes Santa Claus, music by Weyauwega-Fremont High School’s band and choir and free hot chocolate.
