Utke, Harold H.

Harold H. Utke, age 78, of Marion passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center.

Harold Harry Utke was born on June 23, 1937 in Town of Matteson, Waupaca County, to Theodore and Lorena (Reetz) Utke. He was united in marriage on August 8, 1964 to Elsie G. Kobs at the Assembly of God Church, Shawano. In his early years, Harold worked at Giese’s Cheese Factory in Shawano, he hauled milk for Lester Knutson for some time, and also dairy farmed for quite a few years. Then he was employed for 17 years at Utility Tool & Body in Clintonville, retiring in 1984 due to his health. Harold is a former member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, and Bethany Evangelical Free Church, Clintonville. Currently, he was an active member of Grace Family Church, Marion. Harold’s interests included antique cars, watching NASCAR races, camping at Captain’s Cove, and traveling. The couple especially loved the trips that they made to Branson, Missouri, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Harold will be remembered most as a quiet, gentle, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elsie, and two daughters, Sarah (Pastor Kelly) Loken and Katie (Greg) Dey, all of Marion. There is one daughter-in-law, Ursula Utke of North Carolina. There are three grandsons, William (Sabrina) Loken of New London, Maik (Tina) Ehlers of Shawano, and Christopher Utke of North Carolina. Harold is further survived by one great-granddaughter, Rosella Plauster, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale; a sister, Betty Tuma; a brother, Earl, and two nephews, Timothy Utke and Dale Parks.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with Pastor Skip Robertson officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent via www.beil-didier.com.
