Proceeds to benefit Urgent Needs Fund

By Jacob Rosenau

The Manawa School District is offering to wrap presents to raise money for the Urgent Needs Fund.

This fund will help children who do not have coats, eye glasses or other essential, everyday items.

Students will do the Chriswtmas wrapping for a suggested fee of $2 per present, but all donations are accepted.

Their goal is to wrap 100 presents, with all money raised going to the fund.

A Thrivent Financial grant was used to purchase wrapping paper for the project.

Present wrapping will occur at the following times:

• 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, during wrestling meet.

• 5:30- 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, during halftime at the boys basketball game.

Those who want their gifts wrapped should bring them to high school door H2O by the art room.

Participants will earn a raffle ticket for each present wrapped, with the drawing to take place on Dec. 21.
