Authorities uncertain how, when fire started
By Bert Lehman

Clintonville police and fire officials are investigating a fire that occurred at the municipal swimming pool.

According to a press release issued Monday, Dec. 21, the Wisconsin Fire Marshal’s office has been asked to assist in the investigation.

Clintonville Police Capt. James Beggs told the Tribune-Gazette that the fire took place inside a building at the municipal swimming pool. The fire caused damage to interior cabinetry.

Since the outdoor swimming pool is currently closed for the season, the exact time and date of the fire is unknown.

The fire damage was discovered when a city Parks and Recreation Department employee went into the building, Beggs said.

He added that it is thought the fire took place between Dec. 17 and Dec. 21.
