W-F tops Wild Rose at home

Indians improve to 7-3

The Weyauwega-Fremont girls’ basketball team picked up a 43-20 nonconference win Dec. 29 over Wild Rose.

The Indians outscored the Wildcats 24-11 in the first half and 19-9 in the second to improve to 7-3 on the season.

Karissa Akey and Alyssa Goode led W-F with 16 and 12 points, respectively, while Ashley Mendoza led Wild Rose with 10.

The Indians will host Rosholt at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, before resuming Central Wisconsin-8 Conference play at home Thursday, Jan. 7, against Amherst.
