Madison, Romelda Ruth

Romelda Ruth Madison, 85, passed away on January 1, 2016.

She was the wife of Eugene Madison. They shared 65 years of marriage together. She was born in Weyauwega, Wisconsin to Fred and Ruth (Timm) Behn. She graduated from Weyauwega High School. She was a homemaker and raised six children. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a strong woman of faith. Her interests included gardening, snowmobiling, and bowling. Because of her bowling skills, she was often in the newspapers for making the “600 Series Club”. Her main joy was planning and preparing for family gatherings and meals, and was always on a quest for new recipes. She will be remembered for being the mother of six girls (no boys), having an outgoing, friendly personality, and sharing her infectious smile. Most of all, she will be remembered for her happy marriage and loving devotion for her husband.

She is survived by her spouse, Eugene Madison; daughters, Cynthia Madison, Debra Muraski (Tom), Robin Anderson (Kent), Jill Patterson (Geof), Jacqueline Van Deraa (Doug), and Rebecca Madison; grandchildren, Theodore Robbins, Seth Madison, Sarah Cherian (Satish), Paul Anderson, Eric Kragh (Mandi), Nathan Kragh (Ting), Charlie Patterson, Jacob Wilson, Joshua Wilson, and Joshua Van Deraa; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria Raatz. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph and Douglas; sister, Marian; grandson, Charlie Patterson; and great-grandson, Cameron Robbins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 7 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church on Evans Street, Waupaca, WI. Pastor Paul Bowe will officiate. A Memorial gathering will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church. A funeral luncheon will be held following the services. The Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
