Indians fall at home to Falcons

Amherst outscores W-F 12-0 in OT

Kendra Dombrowski scored a game-high 27 points Jan. 8 to lead Amherst to a 60-48 overtime win over Weyauwega-Fremont in a matchup of 3-1 Central Wisconsin-8 Conference girls’ basketball teams.

Dombrowski scored 20 of her points in the first half as the Falcons took a 32-26 advantage into the locker room at the break.

The Indians held the Amherst junior to two points in the second half and the teams went into overtime tied at 48-48.

Amherst held the Indians scoreless in the four-minute extra period.

Alyssa Goode and Karissa Akey led W-F with 21 and 16 points, respectively, while Ashley Groshek had 17 for Amherst.

The two teams will meet again Friday, Feb. 12, in Amherst.
