Delzer, Gary Paul

Gary Paul Delzer, 45, Howard, formerly of New London, died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born on February 2, 1970 in Appleton, son of Donald and Elizabeth “Betty” (Close) Delzer and lived in New London most of his life. Gary was a welder at Brenner Tank in Fond du Lac. He enjoyed playing with Charli, his Labrador, fishing, camping and watching NASCAR.

Gary is survived by his wife, Shari Delzer, Howard; his two sons, Matthew and Nathan Delzer, New London; two step-sons, Zack and Quinn, Howard; his mother, Betty, New London; two brothers, Dan (Melody), Kimberly, and Ken, New London; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Laverne Wiegert, Greenleaf; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Susan (Mike) Baker, Roswell, NM; Tony (Ellen) Wiegert, De Pere; Lynn (Tom) Brunner, Wausau; Ken (Geri) Wiegert, Waupaca and Dave (Sara) Wiegert, Hollandtown. Gary is further survived by several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and two brothers, Lee and Roger.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home (N5645 State Road 76) in Shiocton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospital staff at Aurora Medical Center, Green Bay, for the care and compassion shown to him and the family. Thanks to Jennifer and Kimberly, from Connect Inc. Cancer Concierge, for all their support and help and also The Eternal Wish Foundation of Milwaukee, for the special trip with Haasch Charter Fishing in Algoma.
