Heinrich, Lois May (Flater)

Lois May (Flater) Heinrich, age 80, of Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, Wisconsin, passed away January 13, 2016 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, with her family by her side.

She was born May 24, 1935 in the City of Manawa, WI, daughter of the late Leo and Clara (Zimmerman) Flater. When Lois was age 7, she started playing the snare drum. In 8th grade, she was in the first chair position playing the Snare Drum. She also played the accordion and trumpet. Lois graduated in 1953 from Manawa/Little Wolf High School. At age 19, Lois was united in marriage to Roy Edgar Heinrich on July 4, 1954. They were dance partners for 49 years. Lois and Roy traveled while in the US Navy, finally settling in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She worked as a phone operator in her early years of marriage. After they got older, they started to move to different places.

Survivors include two children, Mark (Diane) Heinrich, Bear Creek, and Lisa (Vince) Hodshire, Kenosha. Lois is further survived by four grandchildren: Tyler Heinrich, Manawa; Meghan Hodshire, Kenosha; Devan (Sam) Wedge, Kenosha, and Cord Hodshire, Kenosha; three great-grandchildren: Max Hodshire, Killian and Knox Wedge; five grandpups: Joe, Gunny, Coco, Gustav and Oliver; and by her nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and a sister, Shirley Russell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI, in the Chapel at Ainsworth Hall, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating. Friends may call in the Chapel from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in the spring at Little Wolf Cemetery in Manawa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for the Chapel and Activities Fund at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Theda Clark Medical Center for their care in keeping mom as comfortable as possible. Also, thanks to the staff at Ainsworth Hall at King. Mom was really happy there with all of her new friends and acquaintances.
