Robert C. Marcom, 73, of Huntley, Illinois went to his Savior, Jesus Christ on January 15, 2016.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m., both at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home -10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Advocate Sherman Hospital Cancer Center, 1425 N Randall Rd, Elgin, IL 60123 In Memory of Bob Marcom.
Bob was born March 21, 1942 in Santa Barbara, CA, the son of Ray and Betty Jane Marcom. He lived much of his adult life in Waupaca, WI as a small business owner. Later in his career he worked as a business consultant. After moving to Sun City, Bob enjoyed playing tennis, was active in the Computer Club and served on many boards. Bob especially enjoyed sharing his computer expertise with his many friends in Sun City. Throughout his battle with leukemia, Bob was always positive and never let his illness steal his upbeat attitude. He was an inspiration to many.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn; his children, Shawn (Kimberly) Marcom and Thad (Amy) Marcom; his five grandchildren: Emma, Lily, Asher, Hunter and Chloe. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Marsha) Marcom and his sister, Ruth McCormick. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff on the 5th Floor Oncology Department at Sherman Hospital in Elgin for the great care they provided Bob.
