Noal A. Pope, age 80, New London, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 due to complications following a brief illness.

Noal A. Pope, age 80, New London, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 due to complications following a brief illness.

He was born on November 6, 1935, son of the late Lynn and Genevieve (Holman) Pope, in the Town of Lind Center. On June 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Leta Wilson. Noal was a devoted family man, cared greatly for his children and grandchildren. He formerly worked at Coast to Coast, Curwood, DNR, and Georgia Pacific. He volunteered his time for the STEP Program, New London. Noal loved American Legion Baseball and volunteered his time selling tickets and working the concessions. His hobbies included gardening and woodworking. He served his country in the US Army, Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Leta; children: Mark Pope, Herbster, WI; Pamela Armitage, New London; Jeffrey Pope, New London; Gregory Pope (special friend, Sara Kopitzke), Weyauwega; Teresa Lemmens, New London; 10 grandchildren: Justin (Candie) Armitage, Melissa Larson, Zachary (Miranda) Casey, Nicholas Casey (fiancée, Ava Gretzinger), Brittany Walker, Jacob Casey, Beverly Pope, Savannah Lemmens and Sandra and Richard Rupno; 11 great-grandchildren: Allie, Cody, Brooklyn, Peyton, David, Kayleigh, Lillian, Zadyn, Aston Carter and Addy. He is further survived by a brother Gary (Janet) Pope, sister Beverly Zindler and a brother-in-law, Pete Brandt and also nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Linda, Judy and Sherry; a brother Donald; a bother-in-law, Richard Zindler and a daughter-in-law, Kim Pope.

Funeral services for Noal will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Honors were held at the church.
