Sleigh rides in Hatten Park

Event benefits New London Community Cupboard

Old-fashioned horse drawn sleigh rides are returning to New London’s Hatten Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

Members of the Fox Valley Driving Horse Association will give sthe leigh rides, with the goal of collecting food items and monetary donations for the New London food pantry. Members of the First Congregational UCC in New London will also be assisting in the event.

Coffee, hot apple cider and hot chocolate will be available for participants.

The fee for a sleigh ride will be at least one non-perishable food item per person, or a monetary donation that will go to the New London Community Cupboard.

Rides will take participants through the scenic 120-acre Hatten Park, located on Werner Allen Road near New London Middle School. Parking will be available on Werner Allen Road. Children must be accompanied by adults.

The Fox Valley Driving Horse Association is comprised of members who live throughout Northeast Wisconsin and the Fox Valley. They share in their love of horses and in the sport of driving both singles and teams and horses of all sizes and breeds.

Local drivers will furnish teams and sleighs for the sleigh ride. Numerous club members will assist in registration, safety, and loading and unloading assistance throughout the day.
