Participants enjoy more chili, soup

Parks and Recreation Director Justin Mc Auly said this year’s Tummy Warmer Cook-off was a success, as the amount of chili and soup consumed increased 16 percent over last year.

Top cook-off finishers
Mild Chili category: First place – Brandon Mc Auly & Bri Stevenson; Second place – Kathy Dins; Third place – Debbie Bettin.

Hot Chili category: First place – Scott Brandenburg; Second place – Charlie Bettin; Third place – Dick Gussert. Chicken Soup category: First place – Sandy Schultz; Second place – Mary Tullberg; Third place – Brian Markiewicz.

Miscellaneous category: First place – Patti Mc Auly; Second place – Sandy Schultz; Third place – Ut N. Gleisner.

The last award was decided by attendees to the event who tasted and voted for their favorite entry. The People’s Choice Award was won by Gussert with his hot chili entry.
