Photographer to discuss light painting

The Mid Wisconsin Photography Group will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the lower level meeting rooms of the Waupaca Area Public Library.

Professional photographer John Hartman will discuss light painting.

Hartman has owned a portrait studio Stevens Point since 1974. He has lectured at state and national conventions and at photography schools throughout North America.

He holds holds the Master of Photography and the Photographic Craftsman degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Hartman is also a Certified Professional Photographer and one of only several dozen photographers worldwide to have received the Associate Degree from the American Society of Photographers.

In 2010, the PPA honored him with the Charles “Bud” Haynes Award to recognize his distinguished service to the industry by encouraging business awareness and practices. He is one of only five photographers worldwide chosen to receive this award.
