One candidate was eliminated for each of the contested races for the Clintonville City Council and the Clintonville School Board in Tuesday’s primary.

In the city council’s District 4, challenger Mike Hankins and incumbent Mary-Beth Kuester will advance to the general election on Tuesday, April 5.

Hankins received 115 votes and Kuester garnered 34. Timothy Zilch was eliminated from the race with eight votes.

Five candidates were running for two seats on the Clintonville School Board. With 11 of 13 precincts reporting, Mark Zachow earned 578 votes, Dirk Weber garnered 357, Lori Jean Poppe received 304, and Larry Czarnecki got 267.

Samantha Ozment, who received 70 votes, was eliminated from the race.
