Korb, Orvin L.

Orvin L. Korb, age 83 of the Town of Bear Creek, passed away February 17, 2016 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah.

Orvin Louis Korb was born January 27, 1933 in the Town of Bear Creek, to the late Louis and Clara (Westphal) Korb. After graduation from Clintonville High School in 1950, Orvin chose to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army and later the Army Reserve. He was united in marriage to Joyce Schoenheide on October 5, 1957 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Orvin worked for Korb Oil Co., and later worked and managed the O. Korb Service Station, Clintonville for many years. He also worked for Noritage Furniture, Embarrass; Clintonville Coop., and other local farm work. He was a life-long member of St. Martin, and served his church on the Board of Stewardship, as an elder, and as an usher for many years. Orvin’s love of the outdoors kept him busy fishing, hunting, making firewood, and gardening; as well as making the best home made maple syrup. He also loved to watch football and other sports. The time that Orvin cherished the most was the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include: his wife, Joyce; daughters, Lori Babino, Clintonville; Vicki (Tom) Behnke, Surprise, AZ; son, Ronald (Karen) Korb, De Pere; grandchildren: Jenni (Jim Vandenack), Jessi, Kristi, Missi, Kyle, and Bradley Korb, Kassi (Dan) Mlodzik, Danielle (Randy Kabble) Babino, Tanya Babino, Greg Behnke, and Steve (Amanda) Behnke; great-grandchildren: Haley, McKaylee, Alek, Amelia, and Louis; sister-in-law, Eunice (Bob) Higgins and brother-in-law, Tom Kroening. Orvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lowell (LaVera) Korb; a sister, LaVerne (Roger) Wochinske; a special son-in-law, George S. Babino; a sister-in-law, Delores Kroening; and his father and mother-in-law, Earl (Eleanore) Schoenheide.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Christian Burg officiating. Military honors will be conducted by members of the V.F.W. Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville in the spring. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
