Feingold visits Main Street

Russ Feingold, who is seeking to return to the U.S. Senate, visited stores along Main Street Waupaca Saturday, March 5.

He spoke to local voters about the economy, jobs and the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

TPP is a trade agreement among 12 Pacific Rim countries that includes provisions to allow corporations to sue nations and states if they pass “Buy American,” labor or environmental laws that could adversely impact their “expected future profits.” These challenges would be heard before UN and World Bank tribunals.

Feingold challenged U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson to take a position on the proposed TPP.

Feingold served in the U.S. Senate from 1993 to 2011, after losing to Johnson in 2010.
